LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- International CES Booth 25829 -- Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENTR), a leading provider of silicon solutions to enable connected home entertainment, announced today that it would be showcasing the NETGEAR MCAB1001 Ethernet to Coax Bridge (ECB) kit, powered by its c.LINK(r) MoCA(r) technology, in live demonstrations with the VUDU HD Internet Movie Box at the 2009 International CES.

Last month, VUDU certified MoCA as a wired home networking solution for VUDU's high performance HD video streaming Internet Movie Boxes. Entropic's award-winning c.LINK technology, used in the NETGEAR MoCA ECB, is already deployed in millions of homes and delivers high-throughput over coax capable of handling multiple streams of HD video with operator levels of robustness and quality of service. MoCA wired home networking provides superior speed and range throughout the house versus other wired and wireless solutions. VUDU owners will now have the option of enjoying their VUDU HD viewing experience through the reliability and robustness of a wired home network.

"We are excited to certify the first MoCA Ethernet-to-Coax bridge for use with the VUDU HD Internet Movie box," said Brian Kindle, vice president of hardware engineering and manufacturing operations at VUDU. "With MoCA, our customers who prefer wired home networks, can now take advantage of their existing coax cabling in their homes to deliver the same incredible VUDU viewing experience."
