Xlibris Releases Greenwich Village Vignettes -- New Book Features a Series of Wonderful True Short Stories That Happened During the Author's Youth

BRONX, N.Y., Jan. 13, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Looking back at the past has its pains, happy moments and treasures. For author Alfred Canecchia, growing up was the greatest challenge any person can have, especially during a time of transformation and sacrifice. This is the true story that is waiting to amaze readers as Xlibris announces today the release of his colorful memoir Greenwich Village Vignettes.

Greenwich Village Vignettes is an inspiring collection of short stories, or vignettes, looking back at a young boy's coming-of-age during the time period after World War II, to the close of the tumultuous and life-changing decade of the 1960's. Greenwich Village was always known for its artists, bohemians and intellectuals. It was a place where hope is built, pitfalls are surpassed and personalities are molded. Through Canecchia's views, readers will realize the challenges and opportunities he encountered, and even relate with them.

Presented with honesty and inspiration, the recollections in this book are based on factual events and the experiences of the author. Ultimately Greenwich Village Vignettes is a memoir and not a document of history, and the stories featured make it a colorful must-read.
