NEW YORK, Jan. 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) today launched "10 Tips to Recession-Proof Your Job Search" on PwC.tv in order to assist the career search for college students and recent graduates during these difficult economic times. The new multimedia resource includes a 10 point checklist, video advice from career strategist Lindsey Pollak and a career advice blog.

"PricewaterhouseCoopers is dedicated to addressing the challenges that college students and recent graduates are facing in the wake of the current economic downturn," said Bob Daugherty, U.S. Sourcing Leader at PricewaterhouseCooopers. "By empowering students and new professionals with sound, objective advice, we can maximize their chances of achieving their career goals."

In February, PwC will expand its efforts to support the careers of college students and recent graduates by introducing an educational, interactive workshop, "Recession Proof Your Job Search: How to up your chances in a down economy," on select campuses across the country.

The first two workshops are scheduled at the University of Texas at Austin on February 9th and Ohio State University on February 23rd.

The workshop series will provide helpful insights and encourage students to maintain a positive attitude despite the tightening job market. "Companies want to hire people who demonstrate their enthusiasm, in addition to their skills," added Daugherty.

PwC will continue to post advice and new opportunities on a regular basis. Visit PwC.tv for more information and a schedule of upcoming workshops.
