City National Bank Announces Philanthropic Performance in Nevada for 2008

In-Kind Support and Volunteer Outreach to Remain Strong in 2009

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank today announced its philanthropic performance in Nevada for 2008 and the extensive nonprofit organizations and charitable causes it supported last year. The bank contributed monetary and in-kind support of more than $100,000 to nearly 50 nonprofit and community organizations in 2008.

Volunteer outreach continued to be an integral part of the bank's philanthropic performance last year. Bank colleagues donated more than 1,000 hours in volunteer service, which included serving on nonprofit boards, reading to students at various elementary schools and staffing charitable events such as the Magical Forest event in Las Vegas.

"Our community outreach last year was very impressive given the challenges we all faced with the struggling economy," said John Guedry, executive vice president and Nevada region manager of City National Bank. "This year will be equally as challenging as last year as we try to help more nonprofit organizations with fewer dollars. We have become more creative in our approach to helping our community partners."

Guedry added that if more businesses would see the value of giving back to the communities they serve, the growing needs of our schools, health and human services organizations and other worthy charitable causes would be met by a greater number of caring companies and their colleagues. "While our monetary support to nonprofit groups will be impacted by the economy, our in-kind support and volunteer outreach will continue to be strong."
