Quackless Duck Gets Washed Away -- Book Two of the Quackless Duck Series

PRINCETON, Mo., Jan. 15, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A wonderfully illustrated book that will surely entertain, and amuse readers, Quackless Duck Gets Washed Away gives you pages loaded with child appeal.

This book is #2 of the Quackless Duck series, and continues the story of the life of a rubber duck that spends his days in a tub of water until one day his secret pals that live in the woods visit him.

One day Quackless is forgotten by the boy who plays with him and has to endure a day and night of uncertainty when the flood washes him away and he is rescued by a, soon to be, new pal who shows Quackless how to live a new life. Quackless has to endure his new pal's habits but adjusts graciously.

With each illustration large, boldly colored and utterly charming, it does a superb job of expanding the sentiments expressed in the text.

About the Author

Jane Lowrey-Christian didn't start writing until the winter of 2007, andreaching the age of 76, though it had been a goal in mind for many years. After raising five children, and losing her parents and brothers, she felt the need to put her memories down on paper for her family, when she wrote Budgie and Sissy's Adventure...an account of the years in the 1930s...when the depression and drought hit north Missouri. The story is from the viewpoint of the Author, as a young girl.

The Quackless Duck series was inspired by a rubber duck that had a sensor that let it quack when it was set off by motion. This talent was lost with time and age.

Jane and her husband, Harold Christian, sing together and attend country music oprys in north Missouri and Southern Iowa. She also enjoys herpiano and sketching and did the illustrations in the Quackless duck series in cartoon style. They live in Princeton, Missouri.
