T-Mobile USA's Neville Ray Elected as 3G Americas' Chairperson

BELLEVUE, WA--(Marketwire - January 19, 2009) - Neville Ray, Senior Vice President of
Engineering and Operations for T-Mobile USA, is the newly elected 2009
Chairperson of the 3G Americas' Board of Governors. Mr. Ray succeeds
Kristin Rinne, Senior Vice President of Architecture and Planning for AT&T
who will continue representing AT&T on the Board of Governors.

A professional in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years,
Neville Ray has specific experience in the design, deployment and
operational management of GSM and WCDMA networks in the United States and
worldwide. Mr. Ray is responsible for the management of the national
T-Mobile® network in the USA, covering in excess of 260 million pops,
serving 32 million customers and encompassing 43,000+ cell site facilities.
HSDPA services were launched in 2008 across virtually all major metro areas
of this network. Prior to assuming his current national role at T-Mobile
USA, Mr. Ray held the position of Vice President of Network Engineering and
Operations for the Northeast region of T-Mobile USA where he led the
network through the 9/11 terrorist attacks, receiving significant
recognition from the New York Police Department, New York state agencies
and the Federal Communications Commission. Mr. Ray's U.S. career began
with Pacific Bell Mobile Services in 1995, where he held the position of
Vice President of Network Operations in San Diego, California and Las
Vegas, Nevada. Prior to joining Pacific Bell, he worked for PA Consulting
in both Europe and the U.S.
Elected as treasurer of 3G Americas is Jean-Louis Carrara of Gemalto, who
has served on the 3G Americas Board of Governors for five years. Mr.
Carrara, who joined Gemalto in 1995, is currently Vice President of
Telecom, North America at Gemalto and is responsible for new telecom
product lines and service businesses in North America.
