Former Balti Investeeringute Grupi Pank AS changed it's company name from January 26, 2009 to harmonise it with the company's new international trademark BIGBANK, starting using BIGBANK AS as the official company name. The bank submitted the respective registration application to the Commercial Register on January 7th and the new company name was registered and took effect starting from January 23. The company names of the bank's Latvian and Lithuanian branches will be changed in the near future according to local legislation. According to Chairman of the Management Board of BIGBANK, Targo Raus, the company name change is a planned continuation to trademark change in November 2008, when formerly under trademark BIG operated company started using trademark BIGBANK in international markets. „Change of company name will not bring any changes to our customers and partners - all existing contracts and liabilities remain valid. Only the new company name must be used for transactions with BIGBANK,” said Raus. BIGBANK AS is a specialised credit institution, based on Estonian capital, that has branches in Latvia and Lithuania and that offers its services also in Finland as a cross-border service.
