Further to speculation in the media regarding Spanair SAS would like to make the
following statement:

In a press release dated December 18, 2008, SAS stated that it is negotiating
with a group of investors from Catalonia, lead by the Consorci de Turisme de
Barcelona (the "Consorci") and Catalana d'Inciatives ("Inciatives"), for the
purchase of a majority stake in SAS' subsidiary Spanair S.A. ("Spanair"). 

The deadline for negotiation of a final agreement is January 31, 2009  (as
communicated in the press release dated December 18, 2008). We will issue a
public statement once a final agreement has been signed. 
Any media reference to the terms and conditions of the transaction is pure
speculation.
