Photovoltaic as a contribution to the energy rehabilitation of buildings
SolarWorld AG will back the governments economic incentive program for
public buildings with a solar construction bonus for schools amounting to
2,500 . 'We want to make sure that the economic incentive program will
truly trigger measures for the future. To this end education and solar
energy supply are an ideal combination', says Dipl.-Ing. Frank H. Asbeck,
Chairman and CEO of SolarWorld AG. 'With our solar construction bonus we
offer schools the opportunity to use the states infrastructure incentive
as an investment into the future'. Installation companies that are awarded
a tender by a school and then install a SolarWorld solar power system will
receive a bonus of 2,500 from the German solar power technology group.
This bonus will be passed on to the school.
Learning about modern energy generation is to be didactically integrated
into the curriculum of the school. To this end the company will make
displays and teaching materials available free of charge. With a special
Internet program students can additionally check at any time how much
electricity is generated on the roof of their school and how much carbon
dioxide is being avoided as a result.
'With this investment into the solar energy supply the schools do not only
make a contribution to the renewal of the energy systems of their buildings
but also secure for themselves a permanent income by way of feeding the
solar power into the grid', continues Frank Asbeck. At the same time the
infrastructure incentives of the government are spent on high quality
products whose economic value creation remains in Germany. The schools can
implement the initiatives straight away because the construction of solar
power systems does not as a rule require any official approval.
The solar construction bonus offered by SolarWorld AG for solar power
generation plants on schools applies to systems with an output of 10 kWp or
more provided that they are built as the property of the school maintenance
organization, a parents initiative or a school sponsoring association. The
additional use of state programs for the promotion of solar power and of
offers of the KfW Bank for Reconstruction is possible without any problems.
