The Life and Impact of a Great Coach -- New Book Tells the True Story of Coach Ray Marchand, the Father of Hockey in the United States Military Academy (USMA)

MELBOURNE, Fla., Feb. 16, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sports is more than just a pastime. It also serves as a unique form of discipline that can influence the spectator, the participant and the leader. This is the theme that drives an engaging look back at the life of a highly influential hockey coach in Ray's Parade, a new book authored by Marilyn Marchand Moore.

Ray's Parade follows the life and times of Coach Ray Marchand, known as the "Father of USMA Hockey", not only from his daughter's perspective but from some of the men of hockey and soccer teams he had over a period of twenty years (1924-1944) at the United State Military Academy. Readers will discover the events that shaped Marchand's mind, what he went through in sports, how he established hockey in the USMA and more importantly, what his impact on his follower was. Fundamentally, this book also emphasizes how sports influence people's lives, their behavior and the country.

Richly-layered and inspiring, Ray's Parade is highly-recommended to sports enthusiasts as well as teachers and USMA graduates. For more information, please visit Xlibris.com or call (888) 795-4274 today.
