Lappland Goldminers AB - Gold production starts at Blaiken

The Board of Directors of Lappland Goldminers has decided to start
the gold production at the mine and process plant at Blaiken. The
production that has been under preparation for a time will start
immediately. The production will initially employ appr. 50 persons.

The Company acquired the operations at the Ersmarksberget mine in
Blaiken in August 2008 from the bankruptcy estate of Scanmining AB
and Blaikengruvan AB including the gold deposit and surrounding
exploration permits. The deposit is located along the Gold Line in
Lappland. The area around the Blaiken processing plant is looked upon
by the Company as highly interesting for finding additional gold
deposits, with a potential for starting new mines where the ore is
transported to and processed in the processing plant.
