Standard Parking to Manage Campus Parking for Columbia University

CHICAGO, Feb. 18, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Standard Parking Corporation (Nasdaq:STAN), one of the nation's leading providers of parking management, ground transportation and other ancillary services, today announced that Columbia University awarded the Company a multi-year contract to manage the University's campus parking operations in New York City.

The operation is comprised of over 750 parking spaces in four garages located in the Bronx's Riverdale neighborhood and Manhattan's Upper West Side. The facilities offer both self-park and valet services to the University's faculty and students.

Standard Parking plans to implement state-of-the-art access control systems by mid-year and to introduce various parking amenity programs for faculty and students. The Company also will explore opportunities to expand the University's valet parking capability through the installation of vehicle stackers at two of the four garages.

"Columbia University is one of the top academic and research institutions in the world, and we are delighted to have this opportunity to enhance the quality of its parking services. We look forward to applying our expertise handling the unique management challenges presented by urban university parking operations for the benefit of the University and its parking constituents," noted Steven Aiello, Standard Parking's Senior Vice President of Operations for the New York metropolitan area.

Standard Parking Corporation, with more than 13,000 employees, manages approximately 2,200 parking facilities containing over one million parking spaces in more than 330 cities across the United States and Canada, including parking-related and shuttle bus operations serving approximately 60 airports.
