Preliminary figures for financial year 2008 

Economic slump in fourth quarter reduces revenue and earnings of Pfleiderer
AG in full-year 2008

Neumarkt, February 19, 2009. On the basis of preliminary figures,
Pfleiderer AG (ISIN DE0006764749) achieved consolidated revenue of EUR1,736
million in the 2008 financial year (January 1 to December 31, 2008),
compared with EUR1,801 million in 2007. While the Eastern Europe region
posted growth, revenue decreased in Western Europe and North America,
whereby North America was also impacted by the closure of the La Baie plant
and exchange-rate effects.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA)
amounted to EUR223.7 million (2007: EUR248.7 million). The net financial
result
of minus EUR80.0 million was affected by losses from interest-rate and
currency hedging instruments. Earnings per share from continuing operations
amounted to 24 euro cents (2007: 100 euro cents).

Cash provided by operating activities increased compared with the prior
year by EUR30.4 million to EUR228.4 million. Net debt increased slightly by
EUR17.3 million to EUR635.5 million.

Pfleiderer AG will publish its annual report on the year 2008 on the
company's website before the opening of stock-exchange trading on March 31.
