On February 19, 2009, there was information published in the media that in 2008 the Joint Stock Company “Latvijas Gāze” has operated without profit or with losses. The JSC “Latvijas Gāze” confirms the information that 9 months of 2008 were completed with losses. In October 2008, new natural gas tariffs for customers came into force. In the last quarter they compensated the losses and part of the foregone income for the first 9 months, thus the JSC “Latvijas Gāze” will complete the year 2008 with profit. However, it will be considerably lower than in 2007. The unaudited annual report of 2008 will be published after its preparation, in the last week of February 2009.
