Harsco's Infrastructure Group Secures New Orders Totaling $2 Million for Infrastructure Maintenance Support

HARRISBURG, Pa., Feb. 19, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Worldwide industrial services company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today its receipt of four new U.S. orders for industrial plant maintenance support totaling close to $2 million, as market conditions in the recurring U.S. infrastructure maintenance sector remain generally steady for the large power plants and other major industrial facilities that Harsco supports.

The orders call for Harsco's rental scaffolding and professional installation and dismantling services to support the scheduled maintenance programs of four large energy plants in Texas, Louisiana, West Virginia and Florida, and include the addition of one new customer to Harsco. Harsco's highly engineered scaffolding installations provide plant maintenance crews with fast-response access support to perform scheduled and unscheduled boiler maintenance and other plant maintenance requirements with optimal efficiency and minimal downtime. More resilient to economic cycles than commercial construction markets, the recurring infrastructure maintenance support sector has grown to nearly 30 percent of the Harsco Infrastructure group's annual revenues.
