Gran Bazar Universale -- A Gripping Story of How the Author Survived An Attempted Murder and Judicial Corruption

YARDLEY, Pa., Feb. 20, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Those that don't know the entire story couldn't even imagine the events that took place before and after "the Carnage." But for author Assunta Parrella, it was a day she will never forget. The feelings, memories, and scars of that fateful day will forever leave a mark in her - and she reveals and shares them to all as she brings forth this memoir, Gran Bazar Universale.

In the past, more than once had the Gran Bazar Universale survived deceit and the falling bombs of World War II. However once it fell under the wrath of corruption, the Camorra (a name to be whispered), it seemed almost impossible to free our property from their grasp. Our tenant was clearly tied to corrupt government officials. That tie was the reason why it took four eviction orders, and a brutal stabbing to free it.

On May of 2008, after five years of investigation, the news media clearly reported why and how the judicial officer Rolandii was arrested. The long and detailed investigation unveiled Rolandii's criminal activities. He was found to be the mastermind behind Gaeta's corrupt judicial procedures. He was charged with extortion, embezzlement, and money laundering. Over fifteen million dollars were found in his clandestine bank accounts. These revelations connect the dots surrounding the carnage of that chilly night of October 27, 2003.

About the Author

Assunta Parrella was born in Brusciano, Italy. It was her father's desire to have his children born in his aging mother's hometown, even though they did not live there. His mother passed on two weeks after Assunta was born. Then they returned to their home in Gaeta. It was the only home she knew until she moved to the States. When she is asked "where would you rather live?" She will answer "I like to take the best out of the two worlds."

She strongly believes that faith and self-respect are the basic rules of life. Let someone tell her it can't be done, and one will see her faith in tackling it. Let someone, stab her in the back, and one will see her courage and perseverance.

She has gone against, deceit, corruption, intimidation, and threats. Her worst experience was being brutally stabbed. However, she has not regretted it. To her it was a worthy cause. Her memoir was written so that her story may encourage others, and for the skeptics and doubtful to understand who she truly is.
