Finnair pilots rejected settlement proposal - strike cancelled, however

The Finnish Airline Pilots' Association SLL, which represents Finnair's pilots,
rejected a settlement proposal made by the state arbitrator. The pilots
announced, however, that they were cancelling their threat of five one-day
strikes. An overtime ban, initiated by the pilots in January, will continue.
Finnair flights, therefore, will fly for the most part normally.

“We, as the employers, would have accepted the settlement proposal. However, we
are naturally satisfied that traffic will not be disrupted,” says Finnair
Senior Vice President, Human Resources Anssi Komulainen.

Negotiations, led by State Arbitrator Juhani Salonius, will continue.
