PEMBROKE, Bermuda, Feb. 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:ENH), a Bermuda-based provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, today announced that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per ordinary share and $0.484375 per share payable on its 7.75% Non-Cumulative Preferred Shares, Series A. The dividend on Endurance's outstanding ordinary shares will be payable on March 31, 2009 to the ordinary shareholders of record on March 17, 2009 and the dividend on Endurance's Series A Preferred Shares will be payable on March 16, 2009 to the Series A Preferred shareholders of record on March 6, 2009.
The Board of Directors also authorized the continuation of its existing share repurchase program for another two years, until May 13, 2011. Endurance's current share repurchase program has remaining authority to repurchase up to 5,565,322 ordinary shares in open market or privately negotiated transactions, from time to time, depending on market conditions.
