Referring to the unaudited data the group of one of the largest construction companies in the country, Panevėžio statybos trestas AB (PST), was on the income of 586 mln. Litas (170 mln. EUR) in 2008 - by 13.4 percents more than in 2007 and made the unautited before tax profit in the amount of the 36 mln. Litas (10.4 mln EUR), that is by 6.2 percents less than in 2007 when the before tax profit was 38 mln. Litas (11 mln. EUR). “Today we may be proud that the income overtopped both, the income of 2007 and the slightly adjusted forecast for 2008, though already from the middle of 2008 the situation in the real estate market is tense,” says Dalius Gesevičius, Managing Director of Panevėžio statybos trestas AB. According to him, adverse changes in the real estate market influenced the results of PST real estate development activities. “Seeking to remain competitive not only we optimize our activities but also expand in the terms of territory,” says D. Gesevičius. As the head of the company states, the major projects of the company in 2008 were the construction of Panevėžys Combined Cycle Power Plant, Science and Technology Park, and Multipurpose Sports Arena in Panevėžys. For the construction of Panevėžys Combined Cycle Power Plant the company was honoured at the competition Lithuanian Product of the Year 2008 and was awarded the golden medal.
