Carlsberg Executive Mikael Aro appointed CEO of
Finnish VR Group

Mikael Aro, Senior Vice President of the Northern Europe Region, has been
appointed CEO of VR Group Ltd, a Finnish company providing rail transport and
road transport services with a net turnover of around EUR 1.3 billion and
employing 12,500 people. Consequently, Mikael Aro will leave Carlsberg during
summer 2009.

Jørgen Buhl Rasmussen, President & CEO of the Carlsberg Group, says:

"I would like to congratulate Mikael Aro on this very prestigious job in
Finland. However, I am truly sorry that he has decided to leave Carlsberg, but
respect his wish to travel less and be closer to his family. He has done an
excellent job in the eleven years he has worked for the Group, not least in his
recent position in Northern Europe where he has been instrumental in improving
efficiency and driving change in the region."

Michael Aro says:

"Although I am very honoured of this appointment, it has been a very difficult
decision to say good buy to the Carlsberg Group and colleagues whom I value a
lot. However, I feel I leave the Northern Region in good shape and very fit for
future challenges."

A search for replacement of Mikael Aro has started.
