R. 'Kelly' Kelly Joins Canyon Acres Board of Directors

ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif., March 2, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced that R. 'Kelly' Kelly has joined its Board of Directors.

Kelly is the co-founder of Spectrum Asset Management, Inc. in Newport Beach, California; and has more than 50 years experience as an Investment Counselor.

"Canyon Acres is excited to have Kelly on our board," said Clete Menke, President of Canyon Acres. "Among other leadership strengths, Kelly's proven track record in asset management will help streamline the agency's investments and the appropriation of funds."

Kelly is a Chartered Investment Counselor (CIC) and was a credentialed instructor on investments in the California College System for over 25 years. He continues to author many articles on investments and finance.

He attended evening classes for seven years at East Los Angeles Community College and California State University at Los Angeles where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He completed additional studies at the Wharton School of Finance and Princeton University.

Most telling is that Kelly grew up in East Los Angeles under difficult circumstances. His parents passed away when he was young; and he and his sister were separated and lived with different grandparents. Kelly has a genuine empathy for the many issues that the constituent children of Canyon Acres face.

"I am grateful and excited that the Canyon Acres Board has asked me to join them," said Kelly. "The agency has an outstanding track record in fulfilling its mission to provide hope, love and care to abused and neglected children."
