SHANNON, Ireland, March 2, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Genesis Lease Limited (NYSE:GLS) today announced the appointment of Orla Gillen, as its new legal counsel, effective immediately. Ms. Gillen will report directly to CEO John McMahon.
As legal counsel, Ms. Gillen will be responsible for managing the legal aspects of Genesis Lease's purchasing, financing, leasing and sale of commercial aircraft, along with other corporate activities.
Prior to joining Genesis Lease, Ms. Gillen was most recently a partner at LK Shields Solicitors, a large Dublin-based law firm where she practiced in the firm's banking and financial services group. During her tenure at LK Shields, she provided legal advice on asset financing to high profile aviation clients. Ms. Gillen has extensive professional experience in asset financing and portfolio acquisitions in the aviation industry, having represented or provided counsel to major international firms including Airbus Financial Services, GE Capital Aviation Services and Ryanair.

Before joining LK Shields, Ms. Gillen was a solicitor at A&L Goodbody, a large Dublin-based law firm, and an in-house officer at the legal department of Pegasus Aviation, one of the largest commercial aircraft leasing companies in the world. Ms. Gillen holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree with Honors from University College Cork at Cork, Ireland. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2001.
