Notification of a change in shareholding under the Finnish Securities Markets Act

Vacon Plc, Stock exchange announcement, 9 March 2009 at 3.30 pm:

Vacon Plc has received information to the effect that Ameriprise
Financial, Inc. and its group's shareholding in Vacon Plc has fallen
below the threshold of 5% of the company's shares and voting rights.
The combined direct and indirect shareholding of Ameriprise Financial
and its group remains at 761,841 shares representing 4.981 percent of
the shares and voting rights.

On March 5, 2009 Ameriprise Financial and its group, of which
Threadneedle Asset Management Holdings Limited is the holding company
in the UK, sold 25,247 shares.

Vacon Plc has only one class of shares and the total number of shares
is 15,295,000. Each share is entitled to one vote.
