ATMI LifeSciences Showcases Leading-Edge Single-Use Bioreactor At INTERPHEX 2009

NEW YORK, March 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ATMI, Inc. (Nasdaq:ATMI), today announced it will feature the next-generation of its Nucleo(tm) Bioreactor and an array of advanced solutions for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing industries at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center (Booth #1373) here on March 17-19, 2009.

Customer data from the Nucleo Bioreactor will be released publicly for the first time at INTERPHEX. Resulting from a close collaboration effort that aligned the single-use mixing expertise of Pierre Guerin with ATMI LifeSciences' know-how in ultra-clean films, the scalable bioreactor minimizes stresses on anchorage-dependent cultures while achieving new levels in high density cell line growth. (In the United States, the Nucleo BioReactor is marketed by ATMI LifeSciences and DCI-Biolafitte, under a joint venture of DCI and Pierre Guerin.)

ATMI LifeSciences executives and product experts will be on-site for interviews throughout the show. Spokespeople will be available to discuss the Nucleo system and industry topics such as:

 * Bioprocess efficiency
 * Environmental implications of disposable bioreactors
 * New opportunities for high cell density applications
 * Evolution of disposable bioreactors
 * Disposable bioreactors' affect on the industry compared to
   traditional stainless steel
 * Real-world applications of disposable bioreactors in lab and
   production environments
