Correction of the Release of an Announcement of December 15, 2008

SKion GmbH, Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe, Germany has informed us according to
Article 21, Section 1 of the WpHG that via shares its Voting Rights on
Altana AG, Wesel, Deutschland, ISIN: DE0007600801, WKN: 760080, have
exceeded the 3%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 50% and 75% limit of the
Voting Rights on December 15, 2008 and now amount to 76.30% (this
corresponds to 107127177 Voting Rights).

According to Article 22, Section 1, Sentence 1, No. 1 of the WpHG, 3.06% of
the Voting Rights (this corresponds to 4302104 Voting Rights) is to be
attributed to SKion GmbH from ALTANA Aktiengesellschaft.

We received this Correction of the Release of an Announcement on March 12,
2009.
