Correction of the Release of an Announcement of December 15, 2008

Ms Susanne Klatten, Deutschland has informed us according to Article 21,
Section 1 of the WpHG that via shares her Voting Rights on Altana AG,
Wesel, Deutschland, ISIN: DE0007600801, WKN: 760080, have exceeded the 3%,
5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 50% and 75% limit of the Voting Rights on
December 15, 2008 and now amount to 76.30% (this corresponds to 107127496
Voting Rights).

According to Article 22, Section 1, Sentence 1, No. 1 of the WpHG, 76.30%
of the Voting Rights (this corresponds to 107127177 Voting Rights) is to be
attributed to Ms Klatten from SKion GmbH and ALTANA Aktiengesellschaft.

We received this Correction to the Release of an Announcement on March 16,
2009.
