Eyrir Invest is a long term investor and invests in industrial companies who have the potential to become true global leaders in their markets. Eyrir Invest has been a shareholder in Marel Food Systems and Össur since 2004 and is now the principal shareholder in Marel holding 40% of outstanding shares and the second largest shareholder in Össur with 20% holdings. Eyrir Invest has supported Marels and Össurs growth strategy in recent years, during which they have become global leaders in their respective fields. Real shareholder value will be created when the companies focus on organic growth and increased profits, based on economics of scale and their competitive positions. Eyrir Invest confirms to have received offers for it´s shares in Össur after discussions with certain private equity firms. Those discussions were not initated by Eyrir Invest. Eyrir Invest declined those offers as they do not in Eyrir´s opinion reflect the potential value creation by Össur. Eyrir Invest will not initiate further discussions.
