Harsco Continues Infrastructure Sector Support With New International Orders Valued At $1 Million

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Worldwide industrial services company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today its receipt of new international orders in The Netherlands and Chile totaling approximately $1 million as Harsco continues its worldwide support of the active global infrastructure sector.

In Chile, Harsco's formwork will be used during the concrete construction of a new public hospital, one of several initiatives planned as part of the country's 2010 Bicentennial Master Plan. Harsco's formwork support begins this month and is expected to continue for almost a year. Harsco's operations have served the expanding Chilean market for more than a decade and the Company further solidified its presence through a strategic acquisition in 2006.

In The Netherlands, Harsco will supply rental scaffolding to the Dillenburgh neighborhood restoration project in The Hague, building on an existing customer relationship with Netherlands-based construction contractor Bokx Bouw. The 30-week, multi-building project includes construction of a new high-rise apartment building as well as multiple building renovations. The project is scheduled to begin in May.

The orders follow the Company's announcement of similar orders within the past month totaling close to $5 million in Peru, France, Romania and the United States for equipment and services to the infrastructure sector, where Harsco is well-positioned across the globe to support the economic stimulus packages announced this year by many of the G-20 countries with targeted investments in infrastructure projects.

Harsco Corporation is one of the world's leading diversified industrial services companies, serving key industries that play a fundamental role in worldwide economic growth and recovery. The Company employs approximately 20,000 people in 50 countries of operation and recorded 2008 sales of approximately $4 billion. Harsco's common stock is a component of the S&P MidCap 400 Index and the Russell 1000 Index. Additional information can be found at www.harsco.com.
