Adjustment of OMX Helsinki Benchmark Index due to rights

In accordance with the “Rules for the Construction and Maintenance of the NOREX
Exchanges' Tradable, All-Share, Sector and Benchmark Indexes” rule 5.3 Pohjola
Bank A (POH1S, FI0009003222) will be adjusted in OMX Helsinki Benchmark index
(OMXHB). The adjustment will lead to an increase in the number of Pohjola Bank
A shares in the OMXHB index, according to the terms of the rights issue (4:7)
rate EUR 2.65, as from the Ex date March 31, 2009. The new number of shares in
the OMXHB index will be 175 520 540.
