Terremark Releases Extended Security Services Suite for The Enterprise Cloud(tm)

Extended Security Includes Addition of Multi-Factor Authentication to The Enterprise Cloud and Availability of Managed Security Services for Full Suite of Virtualized Offerings

MIAMI, March 31, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (Nasdaq:TMRK), a leading global provider of managed IT infrastructure services, today announced the addition of an extended suite of security services for its full range of virtualized offerings. Terremark's virtualized infrastructure services, which include its innovative Enterprise Cloud services and Infinistructure managed hosting platform, now have direct access to the company's existing suite of managed security services. In addition, multi-factor authentication is now available as an additional layer of security for Enterprise Cloud customers.

Delivered from its Secure Operations Center, Terremark's managed security services help protect the business-critical applications running in customer environments with a variety of highly sophisticated security measures, including comprehensive vulnerability assessments, log aggregation and event correlation, network session flow analysis, attack replay, and application firewall management. Multi-factor authentication offers Terremark's Enterprise Cloud customers the first cloud computing platform that supports additional verification beyond a password to log into its web-based interface.

"By introducing these additional security services for our enterprise and Federal customers, we are raising the bar for what is considered a truly secure cloud computing platform," said Christopher Day, Terremark's Chief Security Architect. "Given the security threats that exist today, a cloud-computing platform that is enterprise-ready must be equipped with the types of effective security offerings that are available in the Enterprise Cloud."

"Terremark continues to strengthen our leadership position in the cloud computing and virtualization marketplace by being the first provider of enterprise-class cloud computing services to deliver this advanced suite of security features to government and enterprise customers," said Randy Rowland, General Manager of Managed Hosting Services for Terremark. "With these new features in place, our virtualized services, in particular the Enterprise Cloud, provide ideal solutions for organizations that require highly scalable and agile computing infrastructure to meets the real-time needs of their business-critical applications while offering the highest level of security in the sector."

Terremark's Enterprise Cloud offers customers a secure platform for their business-critical applications, with industry-leading intrusion detection system (IDS) and other security services. Powered by an enhanced version of Terremark's Infinistructure(tm) utility-computing platform and leveraging the company's top-tier data centers with access to massive and diverse network connectivity, the Enterprise Cloud allows customers to dynamically provision servers from a pre-allocated pool of dedicated computing resources through an easy-to-use web portal. Servers can be configured and provisioned in minutes, grouped and organized according to role, and dynamically extended according to utilization.

"When you combine the 'burstability' offered by our Dynamic Capacity Management with multi-factor authentication and the host of other managed security services we now offer, Terremark continues to provide customers a uniquely differentiated cloud computing offering that meets the needs of today's CIOs," said Manuel D. Medina, Chairman and CEO of Terremark. "As with all the IT infrastructure solutions Terremark offers, we strive to ensure that our cloud services continue to exceed industry standards for performance and the value we provide to our customers."
