Semcon continues its long-running collaboration with Fortum

Semcon will construct and install a new electricity and control unit on behalf
of the energy company Fortum at a power station in Härjedalen with an annual
production of 283 GWh. The order is yet another project where the two companies
are collaborating.
Semcon cooperation with Fortum began over ten years ago, when the energy company
decided to outsource some of their activities within command and control
systems.

“Semcon showed a lot of ambition and willingness to do a good job and was best
suited to meet the technical requirements, schedule and our budget. We've also
worked well together in Värmland for many years,” says Börje Jonasson, project
manager at Fortum.
Over a one-year period, 5 engineers from Semcon will work on construction,
testing and commissioning the new complex control gear.
“We have extensive experience of building control gear, magnetizing equipment,
turbine control and renovations using modern technology, effectively and at a
good price. This is the biggest power station we've worked at and it gives us
the opportunity of establishing ourselves in a completely new division in terms
of size of assignment,” says Göran Urby, head of Hydro Power Services at
Semcon's office in Karlstad.

Semcon Hydro Power Services is located in Karlstad and provides packaged
solutions for modernising and equipping small and large hydropower stations. By
renewing all electrical, regulatory and monitoring systems we improve the power
station's profitability. We take total responsibility for delivery, assembly and
testing of equipment and help the customer with calculations and tests in order
to get the maximum output from the power stations.
