Record Handled and Matched Market Share


JERSEY CITY, N.J., April 6, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Direct Edge announced today statistical information regarding its volume for March 2009. Direct Edge reported a record 2.153 billion shares handled per day in March, representing a 251% year-over-year increase. Direct Edge also set market share records for the fourth consecutive month in March, with a handled and matched share of 17.50% and 10.59%, respectively. For the final twelve trading days of the month, Direct Edge's matched market share ranked third among all U.S. equity markets, behind only the NYSE and NASDAQ.
