Peab builds new railway north of Gothenburg Peab has been commissioned to build a new double track railway bypass Surte port north of Gothenburg. The client is BanaVägiVäst and the contract sum amounts to SEK 175 million. The project includes excavation of contaminated lots, lime cement reinforcement of the entire route and construction of new railway embankments. The stretch covers 2.4 kilometres and the project also includes construction of a new station. Work begins in April 2009 and the final examination is expected during the spring 2011.
