AB "Utenos trikotažas" company sales of the first quarter of 2009 reached LTL 17.1 million (EUR 4.95 million) and was by 44% less than of the same period in 2008. Consolidated Group sales of the first quarter of 2009 reached LTL 20.4 million (EUR 5.91 million) and was by 41% less than of the same period in 2008. „The first quarter sales was fited our expectation and was about similar size of sales of the last two quarters of 2008. We can notice, that sales of eclogical products is constantly increasing and that sales amounted 25% of total Company sales of first quarter of 2009,“ - says the Managing Director of AB "Utenos trikotažas" Nerijus Vilūnas. „That products were hardier for heavy time, so Company is actively developing high quality products line further. The Lithuanian customers approved of the quality and comfort of the ecological cotton knitting products too. The ecological underwears line „Eko“, that was introduced on the end of last year, the Lithuanian customers can obtain in the biggest trade centres or by internet.“ According to Managing Director, despite of significantly decreasing of sales and compare with first quarter of 2008, the Comapny succeeded to adapt to wanton condition of market and to work steady. Through of the strong decisions of expenditure decrease and of the better sales structure (in regard to profitability), it is forecasting to compensate the losses because of the less sales.
