Death is But a Heavenly Beginning -- New Book Tells the Funny Story of a Simple Man With a Cosmic Destiny

SAINT ALBANS, W.V., April 17, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Retired pastor Dr. Paul L. Daniell brings to readers worldwide Of Men and Angels, a funny adaptation on the Biblical prophecy of the apocalypse where a dead man and an archangel go back to earth on God's errand to attempt to save humanity.

John Gordon was a veteran of the Vietnam War, who followed a vagrant lifestyle after coming out of a nervous breakdown due to a horrific experience in the killing fields. Quite suddenly, while coming from his usual daily routine, he suffers a fatal heart attack at the dinner table and goes immediately to heaven. There he befriends Raguel, an archangel, with whom he was to appear before God. Upon meeting with God, they are given the task of warning the world of their impending doom. Thus, John would embark on a post-mortem adventure filled with nothing he had ever experienced in his bewildered lifetime, witnessing a great battle between the armies of light and darkness, a strange gathering called the Circle, and firsthand, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. As he and the archangel work to fulfill their roles in the coming Judgment Day, John will yet find himself in a pivotal and totally unexpected role in the grand scheme of things.

Of Men and Angels injects humor into the unsmiling matter of the end of the world while nevertheless seriously portraying the very essence of man's relationship with God and of the very meaning of life, as Dr. Daniell understands it: free will. This engrossing book will enlighten readers on man's true power -- his ability to destroy or save himself. For more information, visit www.Xlibris.com.
