The Rockwool Group intends to close its factory in Italy
The Rockwool Group has the intention to close the Italian factory in Iglesias
on the island of Sardinia, Italy.
The factory which is one of the smallest in the Group has an annual production
capacity of approx. 30,000 tonnes of stone wool and employs 80 people. It was
purchased by the Rockwool Group in 1999 but has been operating with a loss in
all years except 2007 where a break even was reached.
As soon as possible, the Rockwool Group will start consultation with employee
representatives in order to determine the measures for reducing the social
impact of the factory closure.
