AAOHN New President and Board of Directors to Lead Organization Through Re-Visioning Period


ATLANTA, April 20, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Veteran healthcare specialist Kay Campbell, EdD, RN-C, COHN-S, FAAOHN, will take office April 21, 2009 as the new president of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. (AAOHN), www.aaohn.org. The global organization, which represents thousands of occupational healthcare professionals, will also install five new board members, the president-elect and a reelected secretary.

Dr. Campbell, of Cary, NC, will continue efforts to increase awareness about the immeasurable benefits of occupational and environmental health nurses (OHNs) and the economic value they deliver to today's businesses. Campbell is Global Manager, Employee Health and Productivity at GlaxoSmithKline, serves on Boston College's National and Global Work/Life Roundtables and is Adjunct Professor for Public Health at the University of North Carolina. Her experience and perspective are vital to the overall mission of AAOHN.

Pepler, ASN, BS, MBA, COHN-S/CM, FAAOHN, is a long-term OHN and Director of Client Operations for CHD Meridian Healthcare. Newly reelected Secretary Pam Carter, RN, COHN-S, FAAOHN, is an OHN and Manager of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness for the County of Albemarle, Virginia.

Also on the board is Mary Asherbranner, RN, BSN, MSHSA, COHN-S, Director of the South Central/Southwest Region and Director of Client Operations in Tennessee for CHD Meridian Healthcare. Selena Kathy Davis, ADN, RN, COHN-S, represents the Southeast Region and serves as an Occupational Health Nurse for Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart near Savannah, Ga. Jeannie K. Hanna, RN, MSN, COHN-S, FAAOHN, is Northeast Region Director and Director of Integrated Health and Productivity for the Hershey Company in Hershey, Pa. Representing the Mountain/Western Region is Margaret Akemi Matsui, BSN, RN, CRRN, COHN-S, FAAOHN. Matsui is an OHN who serves as Health Services Programs and Systems Administrator for Northrop Grumman Corporation's Space Technology Division. Grace Paranzino, MS, RN, CHES, FAAOHN, represents the North Central Region and is the National Clinical Manager for Kelly Healthcare Resources in Troy, Michigan.
