CoroWare Announces Upgrade to CoroBot Product Line

Delivers Superior Price, Performance and Options for Mobile Robotics Researchers

REDMOND, Wash., April 23, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CoroWare Technologies, a subsidiary of CoroWare, Inc. (OTCBB:COWIE) announced today upgraded standard features and options for the CoroBot, a four-wheeled mobile robot designed to minimize the complexity of robot development.

The upgraded standard features include 1GB memory, 80GB onboard storage, as well as a new color camera with better optics to provide improved color response, auto focus, and light sensitivity. CoroBot models featuring a Windows operating system will come pre-installed with runtime for the recently released Microsoft Robotics Developer Studio (MRDS) version 2.0.

Among the newly available options are a dual-core AMD processor to provide even greater processing power for complex algorithms and a camera upgrade with pan/tilt/zoom capabilities. Researchers can now build more robust applications that incorporate vision recognition, robotics software components such as simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), and path planning.

"Our customers are demanding quality products to do advanced work in robot vision and navigation," said Kim Wheeler, CEO of RoadNarrows, LLC, an authorized CoroBot distributor. "These feature upgrades for the CoroBot both in processing power and vision capabilities will help meet the needs of our academic researchers and will be very well received."

Originally released in May 2007, CoroBot is a capable, expandable and affordable robotic platform that comes fully assembled with an application to tele-operate right out of the box. Equipped with a 1.5 GHz PC-class processor and a robust, object-oriented software development system, the CoroBot empowers researchers to rapidly deploy and develop robotics solutions.

"The upgraded CoroBot offers a competitive price performance in the mobile robotics industry and provides the optimal blend of features for developing and deploying complex robotic applications," said Jon Mandrell, Vice President of CoroWare.
