CHANGES IN YIT GROUP MANAGEMENT POSITIONS
Virva Salmivaara appointed as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications
Ms. Virva Salmivaara (31), M.Sc. (Pol. Sc.), M.Sc. (Econ.) has been appointed as
Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications of YIT Corporation as of July 1,
2009 as the current SVP, Corporate Communications, Veikko Myllyperkiö, retires.
Virva Salmivaara will report to YIT Corporation's President and CEO Juhani
Pitkäkoski.
Virva Salmivaara has been Deputy to Senior Vice President, Corporate
Communications since 2007. She has been in YIT's employ since 2003 and currently
she is responsible for the operative communications tasks on Group-level. Prior
to joining in YIT, Salmivaara has worked with communications tasks in the
University of Helsinki and in the Ministry of Finance in Finland.
Christel Berghäll , Senior Vice President, Human Resources leaves YIT- Antero
Saarilahti assumes responsibility for the Corporate Human Resources function
Christel Berghäll, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and YIT Group
Management Board member has decided to focus on her own coaching and consultancy
business and leaves YIT as of 30th of April.
As Christel Berghällin leaves YIT, the Corporate Human Resources
responsibilities will as of May 1, 2009 become part of Antero Saarilahti's (61),
Senior Vice President, Administration responsibilities. Antero Saarilahti has
joined the group in 1971 and he has among other things acted as the group's
Senior Vice President, Human Resources during the years1989-2003. Antero
Saarilahti reports to YIT Corporation's President and CEO Juhani Pitkäkoski.
In conjunction with the change, the human resources activities will be shifted
more towards YIT's business segments.
