JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 30, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mariner's Choice International Inc. (Pink Sheets:MCII) today announced that it has signed an agreement with Fire Protection Technologies, Inc. (www.flammadur.com) to represent their patented Flammadur products in the shipbuilding, cruise ships, and offshore oil rig industries in North America.
Flammadur products are German technologies that have numerous approvals, including International Maritime Organization (IMO), Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), UL and Factory Mutual. They are attending the upcoming Offshore Technology Conference (www.otcnet.org), an internationally renowned annual event taking place in Houston, Texas, May 4 - 7, 2009, where more than 70,000 attend from around the world, and over 2,000 companies exhibit.
This agreement is significant for Mariner's Choice, as it provides the opportunity to offer much sought after solutions to the on-going concerns of fire protection on ships and offshore oil rigs. In the Gulf of Mexico alone, there are more than 3,800 platforms. The fact that offshore platforms are totally self-contained, with some having as many as 2,500 people on-board, there are on-going inherent health, safety and environmental concerns.
