About the Author

When W.H. Shuttleworth's father passed away in 1990, he left one freshly written poem behind. He had written many wonderful poems over the years, but now there was hardly a trace of them around anymore, because his tattered collection of poems had been mislaid at a senior citizens' gathering near the end of his life. There was one written about his mother called "My Queen Irene" and one about him as a child called, "My Buster Upper Boy Bill."

So it appeared to Shuttleworth the Olympic torch had been handed to him to carry on this family tradition. Within that same year, he entered a poem he penned in Sunday school class into a contest sponsored by the National Library of Poetry. Since then, he has written many poems and has seen his work appear in anthologies encircling the globe -- all these and his participation in several International Society of Poets Conventions, leading to five books of his poetry getting published, besides this marvelous new one from Xlibris.
