BÖWE Group reaffirms the preliminary figures for 2008 fiscal year
Good start to the 1st quarter 2009 

As a result of the economic conditions the BÖWE Group posted a 4.3% fall in
group sales compared with the previous year to 450.2 million Euros with
services accounting for 45% of the total sales. As already reported, the
Group posted an EBITDA of 23.3 million Euros as against 50.6 million Euros
in the previous year. This figure includes one-off charges in the sum of
approx. 18 million Euros, giving an adjusted EBITDA of 41.3 million Euros.
At -60.0 million Euros, the result after taxes for the year 2008 was
clearly in negative territory (previous year: 17.7 million Euros).
Excluding the one-off charges the result after tax would have been around 7
million Euros.

Despite the unfavorable economic conditions Group sales in the first
quarter 2009 rose by 3.5% to 106.4 million Euros. The result was hit by
restructuring costs plus the negative effects of currency exchange rates,
giving rise to an EBITDA of 6.7 million Euros (previous year 9.1 million
Euros). The impact of the measures to reduce costs and to increase
profitability, especially in the US entities, which had already been
introduced in 2008 will lead to increased profitability in 2009.
