First State Bank Central Texas Leverages Goldleaf's Remote Deposit Express

Remote Deposit Capture Solution Enables Bank to Grow Deposit Base

ATLANTA, May 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Goldleaf Financial Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq:GFSI), a provider of integrated technology-based solutions designed to improve the performance of financial institutions, today announced that Texas-based First State Bank Central Texas has grown its deposit base by using Goldleaf's Remote Deposit Express (RDX) solution. Goldleaf's RDX replaces traditional deposit processes, reducing the time, effort and overhead costs associated with business deposit preparation, validation, transportation, processing and management for both the bank and its customers.

When Cassandra Wiggins joined the bank in the summer of 2007 as SVP of treasury management, one of her first initiatives was to select a remote deposit capture system. It was important to find a solution that would integrate seamlessly with the bank's existing core and other processing systems. Wiggins performed comprehensive due diligence, studying at least seven remote deposit capture (RDC) vendors and creating a risk assessment portfolio for each. According to Wiggins, Goldleaf came out on top in terms of product, and the company also had an exceptional team that engaged the bank in a partnership-type relationship, which enabled them to create and execute a strategy to increase the bank's core deposits.

"Selecting RDX was very strategic for our bank," Wiggins explained. "The benefits are numerous, from acquiring low cost deposits to expanding beyond the branch footprint without the expense of opening additional branches as well as eliminating expensive courier services. More importantly, it cements the relationship between our bank and its commercial customers, which is critical in today's banking environment. We are dedicated to providing the best products and services available, and our success with RDX exemplifies that commitment."

Wiggins believes that one of the biggest benefits to the bank is the solution's balancing component, which automatically ensures the customer's deposit matches with the number of items being deposited.

Wiggins continued, "This alone saves the back office significant time. And since implementing Goldleaf's RDX solution, the bank has never been out of balance on a transmission to its processor. The Goldleaf RDX enhancements provide great assurance that a file of checks sent to our processor contains no encoding errors. Our officers have every comfort that their clients will be satisfied with the Goldleaf solution and the referrals for new and existing clients are on the rise."

First State Bank Central Texas performs thorough evaluations of its customers to determine prospects that will most benefit from RDX. The bank has already expanded its footprint with RDX, including one customer who recently opened an operation in California.

Lynn Boggs, CEO of Goldleaf Financial Solutions, said, "Goldleaf has been consistently ranked by analysts as a leading deployer of remote deposit solutions. We have deep knowledge and expertise about how financial institutions can leverage remote deposit capture to bring significant benefits to the bank and its customers. Our innovative products, domain knowledge and partnership culture have enabled Goldleaf to solidify its leadership position in this sector, which in turn allows First State Bank of Central Texas to reap the benefits from implementing our solution."
