Office of Personnel Management and Northrop Grumman Recognized With 2009 Excellence.Gov Award

RESTON, Va., May 14, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Enterprise Human Resources Integration (EHRI) program, a U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) initiative in partnership with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC), was the recipient of the 2009 Excellence.Gov Award for Excellence in Business Processes.

The Excellence.Gov Awards are sponsored by the Industry Advisory Council and recognize the innovative application of information technology to increase transparency between the federal government and its stakeholders.

The EHRI program is modernizing the way that federal employees access and use human resource (HR) information through an online electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) application, analytical tools, and a government-wide data warehouse. EHRI is responsible for the electronic conversion and storage of more than 1.8 million federal employee records.

EHRI's eOPF results in significant cost savings, has streamlined reporting and data analysis, as well as secure storage, transfer and access of federal employee information.

"EHRI has transformed the way federal HR specialists and managers access employee information, and the way federal employees access their personnel information," said Matthew Perry, EHRI program manager for the OPM. "The program improves the transparency of federal HR by providing the appropriate stakeholders concurrent and remote access to vital personnel information."

eOPF was built on Northrop Grumman's e.POWER software platform for business process management and automation.

"The EHRI program exemplifies the mission prescribed in the President's Management Agenda to champion citizen-centered electronic government and facilitate inter-agency collaboration," said Will Berry, EHRI program manager for Northrop Grumman. "Northrop Grumman is dedicated to helping OPM achieve its goals by leveraging information technology for streamlined processes that benefit all federal employees."

Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global security company whose 120,000 employees provide innovative systems, products, and solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems, shipbuilding and technical services to government and commercial customers worldwide.
