Villingen-Schwenningen, 18 May 2009: NEXUS AG, specialized in clinical
software, was able to increase sales by 28.3% to KEUR 9,512 in the first
quarter 2009 from KEUR 7,412 in Q1/-2008. The increase was again very
substantial in the Healthcare Software segment with sales growth of 31.4%.
Sales reached KEUR 8,390 following KEUR 6,383 in the previous year. Sales
in the Healthcare Service Division increased by approx. 9.0% in the first
quarter 2009 to KEUR 1,122 (Q1/-2008: KEUR 1,029).
 
The EBITDA increased by approx. 34% to KEUR 1,697 (Q1 2008: KEUR 1,268)
during the reporting period. The result before taxes improved by 43.3% to
KEUR 549 (Q1-2008: KEUR 383) in comparison to the previous year, and the
result after taxes increased from KEUR 460 following KEUR 378 in the
previous year (+21.8%). Medos AG is consolidated in the first quarter
figures.

The cash flow from current business operations was approx. 82% higher than
the previous year at KEUR 3,047 (Q1/-2008: KEUR 1,671). Business in other
countries developed strongly (+43.3%), and sales amounted there to KEUR
3,600 in the first quarter (Q1-2008: 2,512).

NEXUS AG has a healthy balance sheet with approx. EUR 45 million equity
capital and - for financing its future growth - sufficient cash reserves.
Cash reserves increased by EUR 1.5 million to EUR 11.0 million compared to
the business end of the year (31 December 2008: EUR 9.5).

NEXUS develops and sells IT solutions for health care systems. These
solutions make it possible for hospitals, rehabilitation and social
institutions to convert to digital patient information. NEXUS also supports
integrated healthcare, which enables data exchange between primary care
physicians, hospitals and rehabilitation clinics.
More than 350 staff members in the NEXUS Group develop software and IT
solutions, with which approximately 76,500 users in 17 countries work.
