Colorcon Limited Unveils Clean Label, Complete Film Coating Opportunities

DARTFORD, England, May 18, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Colorcon showcased an
expanded palette of natural pigmented film coatings at the Annual 2009 Vita
Foods Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland. The new options were developed to
support the need for clean label (non-synthetic) pigments for use on
nutraceuticals, dietary and food supplement products.

Fully-formulated, aqueous film coating systems, pigmented with non-synthetic
colorants, meet changing regulatory requirements and provide a solution for
manufacturers mindful of escalating consumer concerns for clean label products.
The new Colorcon products provide a wider color choice with improved stability.
The palette includes rich colors in shades of yellow, green, peach, orange,
pink, purple and grey.

This innovative approach offers food and dietary supplement makers an
opportunity to capitalize on the benefits of film coating their products to
enhance consumer appeal. Film coatings can additionally provide oxygen and
moisture barrier protection, mask unpleasant tastes and odors, improve
in-process packaging, and protect soft, friable tablets during manufacture and
shipping. Manufacturers who have avoided color coating their products due to
label concerns, can now meet both regulatory and consumer demands.
