Tsakos Energy Navigation Ltd Holds Sixteenth Annual General Meeting


ATHENS, Greece, May 29, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tsakos Energy Navigation Ltd. ("TEN") (NYSE:TNP) announced today that the Company conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM), with 79% of its common shares represented in person or by proxy. All of the resolutions proposed were approved by over 96% of the votes cast at the meeting. In particular:



   * Mr. William A. O'Neil, and Mr. Aristides A. Patrinos were
     re-elected as independent board members.

   * Mr. Richard L. Paniguian was elected as an additional
     independent director to the Board.

   * Ernst & Young were re-appointed as auditors for the financial
     year ending December 31, 2009.
