About the Author

Jane Lowrey-Christian was born in North Missouri during the depression and drought years in the 1930s. She grew up on a farm in North Missouri, as she wrote about in her first book, "Budgie and Sissy's Adventure." Her interest in reading developed early and the ambition to write came after her five children were grown and she had grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her experiences and imagination and a rubber duck, that, at one time had a built-in motion sensor and would quack if anyone came in range, which somehow lost this talent with time and age, is the inspiration of the Quackless Duck series. The love of her family and expressing it by writing for young children keeps her busy and happy. Jane and her husband of two years, Harold Christian, live in Princeton, Missouri. They enjoy singing at Country music shows in North Missouri and Southern Iowa. Jane also enjoys her piano, sketching and visiting family and friends.
