Universal Stainless Achieves AS 9100 Certification for Bridgeville and Dunkirk

Company to Exhibit At Paris Air Show for the First Time

BRIDGEVILLE, Pa., June 10, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. (Nasdaq:USAP) today announced that it has achieved AS 9100 certification at both its primary Bridgeville facility and its Dunkirk Specialty Steel mill. Both locations recently completed the AS 9100 Certification audit, successfully meeting all requirements. The company's Titusville facility has held the AS 9100 certification since 2005.

AS 9100 is a quality management system for the aerospace industry based on ISO 9001:2000 supplemented by additional requirements established by the aerospace industry to satisfy DOD, NASA and FAA quality requirements. The development of the supplemental requirements was the result of an international effort by aerospace companies with a common goal of establishing a single quality management system for use within the aerospace industry. AS 9100 is a product of this international effort.

"Achieving AS 9100 certification is an important component of our plan to grow our sales internationally," commented Chris Zimmer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We are very proud of this recent accomplishment as it validates our capabilities to serve the demanding international aerospace market."

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products will be exhibiting at the upcoming Paris Air Show on June 15 and 16 in the US Pavilion, Hall D in booth B104.
