Finnair offers faster security control for connecting passengers

Starting June 15, Finnair will offer a faster connection at Helsinki-Vantaa
Airport to passengers coming from Asia and continuing to European destinations.

"Our customers value good schedules and a smooth travel experience, which is
why we want to make an effort to provide high-quality service to passengers
even when their connection time is short," says Sari Fairchild from Service
Product Management.

As a new service, passengers departing from Asian destinations with under an
hour to change flights at Helsinki-Vantaa, will be given boarding cards with a
"short connection" notification.

"We will inform passengers about the service at check-in, and in person at
Helsinki-Vantaa. There are also signs at the security control," explains
Fairchild.

Due to fast 'Via Helsinki' connections between Europe and Asia, Helsinki-Vantaa
Airport has become an increasingly popular venue to change flights. In
comparison to many of its competitors, Finnair's home base is efficient,
compact and functional. For these reasons, Finnair is able to offer a minimum
connection time of 35 minutes at Helsinki-Vantaa, which is among the shortest
in Europe.
